Military Relations Committee
Updating the Community
The Military Relations Committee and its Little Apple® Brigade meets monthly with programs provided by military personnel to keep the community updated on affairs in Fort Riley and around the world. These events are held the first Wednesday of each month (except December) at the Clarion Hotel in Manhattan.

The breakfast social time is from 7:00 - 7:30 am with the program to follow. Active duty military of any rank are our guests for the event. For more information or to sign up for the Military Relations Committee, please contact Bevin Landrum.

Community Events
The committee also plans semi-annual “Hail and Farewell” luncheons to welcome and bid goodbye to Fort Riley officers. Our annual Military Ball held each November is an elegant event that encourages friendships among Manhattan businesspeople and Fort Riley personnel.

There are golf tournaments, picnics at the zoo and other special events throughout the year to recognize our troops and their families for their sacrifice.

The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce partially funds and houses the office of John Armbrust, the Executive Director of the Governor’s Strategic Military Planning Commission. This commission can be credited with the successful passage of Fort Riley and three other state military institutions through the final stages of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure process.
